paris recommendations
Monday, December 18th, 2006We had spent a week wandering through Paris. Here are my recommendations:
Absolute must-see:
- Île de la Cité: The best Ice cream in the world is produced in Paris: Berthillon, 29, Rue St. Louis en l’Île
- St. Germain: a most expensive and incredibly discreet Confiserie (way beyond Sprüngli in Zurich!): Pierre Hermé, 72, Rue Bonaparte
Others:
- Marais: a nice place to eat and be among friendly people: Le loir dans la Théière, 3, Rue des Rosiers
- Several locations: an expensive place to have fine Confiserie (compare it to Sprüngli in Zurich): Laduree, several locations
- Near the Tuileries: A nice, expensive tea house to get a hot chocolate and a “Montblanc”: Angélina, 226, Rue de Rivoli
- Abbesses: A fine restaurant, french cuisine, reasonably priced: Le Kokolion, 62, Rue d’Orsel
- Near the Eiffel tower: we saw an impressive exhibition of art installations at Palais de Tokyo, 13, Avenue du Président Wilson
- Abbesses: A congenial restaurant with nice live music and fine, simple food: Living B’Art, 15, Rue de la vieuville
- Abbesses: A nicely located hotel at fair prices: Utrillo, 7, Rue Aristide Bruant
- Canal St. Martin: A nice restaurant before or after a walk along the canal de St. Martin: Chez Prune, 36, Rue beaurepaire
- St. Germain: An impressive design and clothes’ store: Paul Smith, 22 and 24, Boulevard Raspail
- Near the Île de la cité: An impressive paper boutique: Calligrane, 4-6, Rue du pont Louis-Philippe
I am interested to hear what your experiences were there!
